Peanut Butter- Homemade

Home Made Peanut Butter is a quick and amazing classic spread. Peanuts are combined with salt, agave nectar or sweetener of your choice and vegetable oil to form the delicious spread. This is the favorite spread of the every kid and older people like me. No added preservatives, chemicals just all natural ingredients – try it out!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw, shelled peanuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, as per taste
  • 1-2 tablespoons peanut oil or olive oil ( any vegetable oil, it should not have strong smell)
  • 1 tablespoons agave nectar or honey or other sweetener (as per taste)
  • Big flat pan or Baking sheet
  • High intensity blender
Method:
  1. In a large pan, add the peanuts and the roast on the stove on medium flame.
  2. Keep stirring and allow them to roast till you get roasting fragrance or there they start to turn slightly brown.
  3. Remove immediately and transfer to a towel.
  4. Allow to cool a little, and then start rubbing the peanuts with the towel and blow away the skin. Involve kids for this activity. They love blowing and removing the skin from the peanuts.
  5. Alternatively, Heat the oven to 350°F and toast the peanuts until lightly golden, about 10 minutes. You can also use pre-toasted nuts. I made using pan.
  6. Now pour the toasted, cleaned peanuts in the blender and pulse. Run the blender continuously for 1 minute. Stop and scrape down the sides and bottom of the blender. Stop in between and pulse continuously for another minute, then stop. With a scrapper, clean and scrape the sides. At this point, the butter will start collecting together. Be patient here!
  7. Add the salt, oil, and sweetener.
  8. Continue blending until desired consistency is reached.
  9. Scoop peanut butter out of blender with spatula and refrigerate in an airtight container
  10. As there are no preservatives, I don’t know for how long it can be stored!!! Will check, experience and let you all know.
