As summer temperatures heat up, cool summer treats are in high demand. Popsicles for all of us are just perfect.
The easy option is to buy from a store, but making them yourself is so much fun, and the flavor possibilities are endless. My little ones, my kidos- niece nephew- Ayra, Ayaan, Rehaan ,Vivaan, Ruhaani, and Ahaan love mixing up different concoctions in the blender, and I love knowing our summer snacks are full of fruits (and sometimes hidden veggies like spinach, kale!), free from any added sugars, artificial flavors and colors. Nature does sweetness so well, why bother with anything else?Use whatever fruit you’re heart desires. A perfect summer treat!
There are many variations you can do with fruits and vegetables. Here is a simple basic recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/3 cup fresh diced kiwi
  • 1/3 cup fresh diced watermelon
  • 1/3 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1/3 cup diced pineapple
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemonade or orange juice ( I made fresh at home, Tropicana can also be substituted)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Combine diced fruit in a bowl and fill each popsicle mold with fruit.
  2. Add 1 tbsp of juice and insert craft sticks into each cup. They easily stay in place because of all the fruit.
  3. Place in the freezer a few hours until firm.

To remove the pops from the cups, run under warm water a few seconds. Enjoy!
