Ging-Tur- Winter’s Anti-Inflammatory Herbal Drink
Who haven’t heard of Turmeric? Nothing is as satisfying as when you get access to the fresh roots of your favorite herbs ginger and turmeric. It’s a blessing if you get this soon after hurting yourself. Yes!!! snow diving and spraining arm in the black ice (snow).
I am not a pain-killer fan so made this amazing fresh yellow drink to relieve swelling and pain. This not only tastes fantastic but also supports our overall health. I love my Natural Tylenol
Scientists proved that curcumin is present in turmeric which is anti-inflammatory, and can reduce soreness and fever, much like the pain killers. Ginger also helps reduce chronic pain, by lowering our levels of hormones that induce inflammation. This is a natural energy boost.

Ingredients
- 1-2 inch pieces of fresh turmeric (you can use the turmeric powder if fresh root is not available)
- 1-2 inch pieces of fresh ginger
- Sweetener of choice( Manuka honey, maple syrup (Optional, I don’t use any sweetener)
- Milk of choice, I use coconut (on vegan day) or cow milk (normal days)
- Black pepper, cloves, cinnamon (Optional) or any other spices you’d like!
Directions:
- In a mortar and pestle crush ginger and turmeric nicely so that all juices are released.
- In a pan take 2 cups of milk and add all ingredients- crushed paste of ginger and turmeric, cloves (except sweetener, if using) and whisk to combine.
- Heat over medium heat until it starts to bubble.
- Then turn heat down to low and simmer for about 5 minutes so the flavors ooze out nicely from the herbs.
- Strain out the herbs and spices and pour in the mugs.
- Add sweetener and stir
- I made 2 servings and shared with my love!
