Baked/Broiled Grapefruit

This recipe is the perfect way to fulfill the role of an excellent, sweet, healthy and tangy dessert!

A favorite to-go breakfasts
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 grapefruit
  • 2 teaspoons agave/maple syrup/brown sugar
  • 2 pinches of freshly ground ginger/ Rosemary/or cinnamon (optional)
  • Zest of lemon/ or any citrus fruit( optional)
  • Mortar pestle (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Wash the grapefruit and cut it in halves.
  2. Use a small paring knife to cut around the outside of the grapefruit.
Use your knife to separate each triangle segment of fruit from one another. This makes the eating easy and enjoyable- totally optional
  3. Top each half with one teaspoon of agave/brown sugar or maple syrup. Using back of the spoon rub it into the fruit. You can use your hands.. I did with hand?Sprinkle with ginger, fresh rosemary or cinnamon and zest.
  4. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes, or until grapefruit is warm and caramelized in places. Serve warm.

Tip: if you want your kids should enjoy this, top it with butter and brown sugar. The carmamalization tastes so good! Kids loved it…even my best half enjoyed to the core!
